Mike's top 6 Internet Personalities

This is a simple, short and easy post to my blog (and in no particular order). Mostly representing myself here, as Michael, but the names (and or personas) I list here today have a great impact on the videos I produce, direct and star in.
So, I'd like to dive right into

Mike's Top
6
Internet Personalities

  1. The Nostalgia Critic: You see, he remembers it so you don't have to. I wish I could put it better, but I can't! I actually spend a lot of time simply watching reviews of movies. A lot of the time, I hear a movie is bad, I don't give it the time of day. Then along comes Doug Walker as the Nostalgia Critic, and, as he opens every review, he remembers it so you don't have to. It's perfect! Actually, in all honestly, his reviews are quite hilarious, he's a memorable character, and I hold his opinion with high regards. He does his research (most of the time) and he knows his stuff (movie history, the who's who in Hollywood, etc). Even on the movies I disagree with his review, I still find myself laughing my ass off from his comedic take on the material.
  2. RocketJump: There is actually a ton to cover by RocketJump, so I'll just briefly describe this one. First, there is the FredieW aspect of RocketJump. He is a youtube star who fronts RocketJump, and has made some of my favorite videos. And then there is the Video Game High School series. At first, I didn't think I was going to like the series, but I actually came to really enjoy it!
  3. TomSka: TomSka (and I'll mention Eddsworld later) creates amazing, hilarious skits and his videos are largely what convinced me to make videos for DeadGhost (well, actually TomSka and FreddieW, and a whole bunch of other channels, but these are the "stand-out" channels).
  4. Eddsworld: I leave this link to a specific video on the Eddsworld channel. Rest In Peace Edd Gould. Edd, like the others, had a great impact on the kinds of videos I would like to do. After failing my hand at animation, I still always enjoyed Eddsworld cartoons. Watching his style improve throughout the years, and his content, I was always so inspired by his videos.
  5. JonTron: What can I say about JonTron? A lot! Every video of his feels like pure comedy gold. He... reviews? both games, movies and the like. With his... evil, potentially robotic bird? at his side, his loud nature and great reviewing skills, it's always a pleasure to see what he reviews next. And, just like with the Nostalgia Critic, it saves me time in the long run when he reviews something so I don't have to. I can't describe what makes his videos great, (great editing, great character, great reviews?) but I know I catch every episode of JonTronShow I can.
  6. Vsauce: Michael from Vsauce, what a personality to behold. I'd say, if I had to pick a fantasy league of people who should have taught me back in grade and high schools, Michael would be right there at the top. He takes great ideas, philosophical, scientific, just questions and ideas and presents them in intricate and entertaining ways. The passion he shows in all of his videos comes through, and engages the audience. A portion of his content, I'll even usually know about, but the way he presents them makes me happy to re-learn everything I knew, just to have Michael's take on it. And, you never know what to expect from him, honestly.
There are so many more internet personalities that have a great impact on me, but the six I've provided is a good start. I've an entire list of animators I would attribute some glory to (Like Egoraptor, Zuerel, etc) and many channels of action skit and comedy skit-based channels (Like CorridorDigital, 5-second films, etc) and I could fill many pages full of content based on all my favorite internet personalities. So, I leave you with these six, and I hope you enjoy their content like I do!
